There is almost nothing I love more than cracking open a good book to relax. When you work outside of the home, come home and do housework, then work on your blog *cough*, and spend some time with your significant other, it’s easy to forget to take some time each day just for yourself! For me, that’s reading!
I’m frequently asked on my Facebook Page what books I am reading. I’ve made several lists (a few upcoming) of different book series I love. Here are my favorite fantasy series books!
This series is not for someone who is afraid to read about sex. The further you get into the series, the more explicit it gets. With that being said, if you like reading about hardcore, butt kicking, vampire killing, tough chicks and can handle the extremely adult nature of these books, you’ll love them.
I just found this series this year. I LOVE IT. It’s another tough chick kicking butt and taking names, but as a secret assassin. Full of fantasy, where dwarves, giants, vampires, and elemental magic are common in today’s world, it’s a fascinating story line and a great read.
This was the very first fantasy novel ever put into my hands, and I love it so much I read it EVERY SINGLE YEAR. I read it so much that I know many of the people I would want to see cast in it if they ever made a movie out of this book. This particular book, actually is an anthology, so the whole story is in one big fat 1,000 page book. This is a full blown fantasy with elves, dwarves, gnomes, and a made up civilization. If you’ve read anything like Lord of the Rings, or the Dark Elf Trilogies, you’ll love this book.
The wizard Harry Dresden has fascinated me since the minute I read the first book. A modern wizard who lives in Chicago and fights all kinds of nasties. His best friend is a holy warrior, and together they go above and beyond to keep Chicago running. Seriously, a wizard with a staff and a duster. Why would you not want to read this book?
This is also a modern day fantasy about a witch who is also a magical bounty hunter. With an eclectic group of roommates, and a knack for getting into some trouble, she is a fascinating character in the battle of good vs evil.
I hope you’ll check out at least one of these books and let me know if you liked it or not! If you’ve already read them, tell me what you think!
Do you have any favorite Fantasy book series I should check out? Tell me! (And don’t get mad if I don’t post for awhile because I have my nose stuck in books! Ha!!!)
