Throughout my lifetime, there have been plenty of discussions while day dreaming, or chatting with friends about wishes. Many times the question has been posed ” If you only had one wish what would it be”?
That’s an incredibly difficult question to answer. You have to decide if you would make a wish for yourself or for someone else. Would you wish for love, money, or health? It took me awhile to decide what I would really wish for if I could.
My wish is to stop the suffering of innocent animals. Animals are our faithful companions on this planet, and unfortunately, they can only speak through us. They are often tossed away because they “grew too big” or “I had to move and just couldn’t take them”, or even worst of all “because they aren’t cute anymore”.
If you want to help make my wish come true, please donate or volunteer at your local Humane Society or Animal Control office. If you’re considering a pet, please think about adopting! I do! Be a voice for those who don’t have one of their own.
I’m going to be completely honest though. I only like to do charity work from a distance. I’ve had some bad experiences from bad seeds while doing charity work up close and personal, so to keep myself from becoming jaded, I prefer to work behind the scenes.
That is why the UPS#WishesDelivered site campaign is something I am willing and happy to promote. Far too often people take no action to help because we think we don’t have time, we’re nervous, we don’t know where to start or we’re scared of change. But, the UPS #WishesDelivered campaign makes helping others incredibly easy.
All you have to do is share your wish on the#WishesDelivered site or post your wish on Twitter or Instagram. Make sure you tag it at #WishesDelivered and it will automatically join thousands of other wishes on their website. Think of something warm and heartfelt, and not something you can quickly grab in a store.
Once you submit your wish, UPS will donate $1.00 to their partner charities, up to $100,000, and you can do this all from the comfort of your home, smartphone, or tablet.
This is a great opportunity to get your whole family involved in giving. I’ve seen so many truly amazing and inspiring wishes on the #WishesDelivered website, everything from snowball fights and beautiful scenery, to a family holding up a sign displaying their wish. I’ve been moved by some of the most sincere wishes for others I have ever seen.
Please do this, stop what you’re doing and go make a wish, have your kids make a wish, if you give 5 minutes of your time today, you’re can help raise money for charity.
Make sure you share it on your social media sites and ask your friends to make a wish too. Have a contest to see who can make the best wish photo for Instagram! You have until December 31, 2014 to submit your wish to UPS. You can discover more about this campaign through the video below.
Leave me a comment and a link if you submit wish. I would love to read your wishes!!!
