Is it odd to anyone else that we’re on week 12 of the Packed Lunch Challenge, and somehow it’s not been exactly 3 months? Still the time is flying by, and I don’t know about you, but I am pretty dang happy that I have come this far. I hope the rest of you are sticking to it and are patting yourselves on the back too.
I want to share something with you, and I’m not sure I have been upfront about it from the beginning, should I say, I haven’t made a point of stressing this from the beginning as well.
I don’t just pack lunch, I also pack breakfast and snacks for the whole day as well. So, if you think about it, I normally eat 5 smaller meals a day and at least 4 of those meals go into a lunch bag. That’s A LOT of prep work and organization to take into account. It’s also A LOT of weighing and measuring portions the night before.
Everything has to be chopped up, put in containers or a thermos. Every single bit of it is logged into My Fitness Pal. And right now, every single bit of it is not working as far as weight loss goes.
Ladies and gentleman, we have the first plateau.
I have been bouncing back and forth between 15-19 lbs. lost. Some days it’s up and some days it goes down. Some days I do “perfect” and stay within every food goal according to My Fitness Pal and I gain weight, some days I go over in an area and lose weight. I’m sharing all of this with you to tell you, my body is PSYCHO.
I’ve ridden this weight loss roller coaster before and let’s just say, it’s usually at this point I get frustrated, frustration turns into anger, anger turns into an “F-it” attitude and I’ve stopped, gained all the weight back, and then some. Yet, I can’t stop this time. I’ve seen what my future looks like if I stop now, I’ll share that story with you next week, let’s just say it’s not in my best interest to quit.
I guess the bright side of struggling through this AGAIN is my determination to not let it beat me. I will figure out how to get through this and move forward. Giving up is not an option, so I guess being stubborn and fairly competitive does have a plus side. Ha!
I do not have photos this week. I know they were something I promised weekly, and I SWEAR to you this time it’s an organizational issue on my part. I let a friend borrow my camera to take photos of a birth, and totally forget to get it back for today. I also CAN’T FIND MY CLOTHES! I promised to always take photos in the same clothes, yet it seems my house has eaten half of the outfit. I’m not even kidding. How do a pair of leggings and a tank top go freaking missing when I know I had that outfit on last week? *sighs*
Goals for the week:
Kick this plateau in the rear
Practice kung fu forms every day. (they REALLY help my back believe it or not. Maybe I’ll get my Sifu to explain why in a video.)
Do better on planning my meals!
What are your goals for the week? Have you ever been in a plateau? How did you break it?
Don’t forget to come back next week for what should be a truly EPIC and personal post about weight loss.
