Happy Easter everyone!
It’s week 14 of the Packed Lunch Challenge. I am so incredibly excited to share what happened this week with you. Are you ready? Are you sure?
I lost 3 pounds! 3!!! Making my new grand total:
20 lbs. gone!!!!!
I cannot express how completely stoked I was when I hopped on the scale this morning! I had this goofy fear that after all of the hard work I did this week nothing was going to happen. When that number quickly zeroed in on EXACTLY 20 lbs. lost, I could have fallen over in shock. FINALLY the results are showing.
It all started with a big attempt at eating as many whole foods and fresh snacks as possible:
Tuna wrap with Miracle Whip, with grapes and vanilla Greek yogurt
Garden Salad with Ken’s Balsamic Vingerette. I also just found out you can find this in a light version, so as I am making my packed lunches in the future, I will be on the lookout for that.
A garden salad with a couple of eggs for some protein!
And in my true style, a Friday with a very measured and carefully counted pasta lunch. I was craving it dang it! It was also taking up room in the freezer!
I have been doing a lot of looking around on Youtube for free workout videos. I found a free spinclass there, and thought I would give it a shot. I finished it the first 30 minute half of the video (it’s in 2 segments), and went through a huge range of emotions. (I talk about those emotions in my newsletter, so if you sign up below, I will send you a copy for this week, but only if you sign up TODAY!)
Yesterday, for some reason I had a major fire burning in me to complete some physical challenge. One of those was the spin class, and the other was hitting 10k steps on my Fitbit. I also wanted to actually WIN a daily challenge, so I literally did everything I could to get my butt moving yesterday. I spent some time playing on the Kinect fitness programs, and my husband and I grabbed the leashes and took the dogs for a walk.
Speaking of walking, I went to the New Balance store on Friday because my other sneakers have been killing my feet, which of course hurts my back, and keeps me from walking as much as I should. I found out my arches have collapsed and I am flat footed! The salesman spent quite a bit of time finding me a pair of sneakers that fit, and it’s confirmed, I have HUGE FEET! haha! I am a 10 EE double wide!! No wonder I can’t ever find shoes!!! I’m not going to lie, they were probably the most expensive item of clothing I have ever put on my body, but they made a major difference on the walks yesterday!
I bet you’re wondering if I hit the goal of 10k steps or not aren’t you?
That’s right. I DID IT. I did NOT win first place because those sneaky chicks went out and added some more steps after I hit it, but at that point, my legs were D-O-N-E!!!
After all that hard work, I woke up this morning terrified I would be in agony, but surprisingly I’m not in much pain at all really. My ankles are a little stiff, but aside from that, I’m feeling good. In celebration of that feeling, I thought I would start a tradition in the Packed Lunch Challenge, and once every quarter do a comparison graphic of what I looked like when this started to what I look like now.
I don’t know if you will see the same changes I see, but I want to tell you what I am noticing after losing 20 lbs.
My breasts are smaller. A LOT smaller.
My face looks slimmer.
My outer thighs are toning up and slimming down. (I just learned a new kick in Kung Fu yesterday that had those suckers BURNING!!!)
My upper arms are trimming up a bit.
The biggest change is the black shirt was SKIN TIGHT on me when I first started taking photos in it, and now it’s getting loose around my chest. WOOHOO!
Wrapping it all up!
I can’t wait to share a new program I am starting with you next week. I’m going to talk about measuring your body before you start losing weight, and why I regret not doing it in January. If you don’t want to miss that post, make sure you sign up for the newsletter below!!!
I have been brainstorming pretty hard on some new post ideas, so make sure you check back during the week! I aim for 3 posts a week and if you want to lose weight, you don’t want to miss out!
Last, I want to thank each and every one of you who show up week after week and support me on this journey. It’s HARD, but it’s worth it in every way. Each and every story you share, email you send, or comment you leave is appreciated beyond measurement! I also want to thank everyone who took a minute to take the survey I sent out last week. I am taking into account your thoughts and suggestions, and I will make a few changes because of your opinions!by
