It’s week 20. We’ve been at this for FIVE months! WOW!
I strive to always be honest with you all about my progress and what I have going on in my life. First, let me apologize for not getting the new recipe up on Tuesday like I promised. I have no good reason for it other than I am in a bit of a funk all the way around, weight loss, blogging, etc. We have some big financial changes going on in our lives right now and it’s causing me a bit of stress, and just making me feel…BLEH. Regardless, I SWEAR the post will be up this coming Tuesday. It’s finished and scheduled to go out at 7:00 am!
However, the changes will be a very good thing in the long run, and I will share that with you as they progress. Speaking of financial changes, are you all interested in an update on how much money has been saved by not eating out? Let me know in the comments and if so, that’s what we’ll talk about next week!
In the pursuit of always being honest, I have to tell you, we have been HORRIBLE about eating dinner out almost every night this week. However, I still have been packing my lunches. Instead of focusing on not being a perfect angel when it comes to eating out for dinner, I am going to focus on a BIG WIN I had this week. It’s important to me to realize that non-scale victories are possibly more important than the number on the scale. So, if you’re wondering what my big victory was for the week:
I FREAKING JOGGED!!!
Not to act like I ran a 5k or anything, it was only for about 20-30 seconds in the parking lot of a store, but I was also pushing over 100lbs (50 lbs. of dog food and 20 lbs. of cat litter plus some groceries) in a cart when I did it, and it wasn’t downhill or anything. I can’t remember the last time I picked up my feet enough that it could be considered any kind of run. I’m sorry, I just need to take another second for this:
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FREAKING HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
OK, I’m better now.
I’m working hard to make some mental changes, so the format of things here may change a bit while I do that. I did NOT meet my goals for the week, but damn it, I jogged. I want to keep setting weekly goals, and even more so, I want to start paying attention to GOOD things I am doing as well, and trying to turn my focus on the positive changed happening. I can’t guarantee I will always be positive, because honesty is more important to me than blowing unicorns and rainbows up your rears, but I do want to work harder on the mental shift.
I made some changes to food this week too. (If you want to see daily updates including food, and even a few photos of me, make sure you follow me on Instagram.) I wanted to work harder at changing up the foods I eat, and as always, increasing veggies. I bought several brands of frozen food that comes in steamable packages. LOVED one of them, and the other was ok. I’m looking forward to incorporating more of them into my diet so I don’t get stuck in the rut of eating tuna fish every day!
Goal for last week met: No
Non-Scale Victory: Jogging
Weight loss: -3 Lbs
Goal for next week: Get in all of my work outs. 45 minutes of cardio and my weight training routine. No eating out ALL WEEK. Continue to find new ways to add new foods for my packed lunch!
