It’s week 22 and here we are. I shared some of the most personal stuff with you that I have ever been able to share, especially on a public forum. I’m doing what I promised and letting all of that crap go. So, you can only imagine how excited I was to see like a 5 lbs. drop THE NEXT DAY on the scale, and then imagine my frustration at ending the week at a gain.
The day after the end of my “week” which I count from Sunday to Sunday, I am back at the same weight again. So here, I am another week in and bouncing around on the scale like a damn kangaroo on speed. It’s frustrating!
I know I have increased my activity, and I am going to continue to increase my activity. Can I just brag a bit that I almost hit 10k again on my Fitbit this week? Saturday I hit about 8,500 steps, and for me, that’s A LOT. I was stoked about it for sure! Let me just give you a few ideas of ways I have found in the last weekend to increase activity. Last weekend we went to Blanchard Springs Caverns. It’s a beautiful place here in Arkansas, inexpensive to visit, and I added about 5,000 steps to my daily exercise just inside the cavern. So, my husband got to see something he hasn’t seen since he immigrated here, and I got in a decent walking workout. Let me tell you, the ramps in that place are no joke, and I felt some serious burn.
These caverns are still considered a living cave. The next photo shows new formations in the works!
This weekend, I took my husband to his FIRST EVER baseball game. We had to park a fair distance to the stadium, and because we had amazing seats, we also climbed up and down a lot of stairs. Then, in typical fashion for the spring this year, we had a downpour in the bottom of the 6th inning, and had to splash our way back to the car. Saturday we buried my Aunt’s ashes (she passed in November), and decided to spend the rest of the afternoon in something positive, so we went to the Little Rock Zoo. Like I said, I ended that day at 8,500 steps, so there was some serious walking going on there!
And I still gained.
Well, when you know you’re doing something right on this journey, that means you’re failing at something else, and I am SURE it’s my diet. This week, I am refocusing on my food, weighing and measuring everything, and making sure I have healthy options around instead of junky grab and go crap. I have always kind of been a hater of meal planning, but I feel like this week, it needs to happen, and it needs to happen big time. I’m excited about taking a little more control of the kitchen again.
So what about you?
You all have been kind of silent lately, so tell me how you’ve been doing. Are you losing weight? Gaining? Packing your lunch?
Also, I am considering hosting a diet bet challenge. It’s a win-win situation, you’re only betting on yourself. Here is more information on how it works. If this is something you would like to do, please let me know in a comment below, and I’ll work on getting it set up!by
